EU Blue Card: a route to a stable life, work and residence in Europe
We arrange a Slovenian Blue Card based on your employment contract, prepare all the documents and support you at every stage.
Priority processing
Blue Card applicants are reviewed as a priority; the first card is issued straight away for 2 years (a standard first permit is 1 year).
Reunification straight away
The right to reunite a spouse and children immediately after the card is issued, with no 1-year wait.
Time across the whole EU
Time on a Blue Card in Slovenia counts across the entire European Union — after 5 years you can move to another country and apply for permanent residence right away.
You have a contract with a Slovenian company
You need to prove high qualifications (a degree or 3+ years of work experience) and the salary level — no lower than the set minimum.
No contract — through your own company
The solution: setting up your own company in Slovenia and employing yourself in it as a highly qualified specialist — you legally use all the advantages of the Blue Card. More on the residence permit through business page.
Changes to the Blue Card programme
Lower salary threshold
The minimum salary is at least one average monthly salary in the country, gross. For 2025 — €2,567.07 per month.
Shorter employment contract
A contract of at least 6 months is enough (previously 1 year or more was required).
Easier to change employer
You can change employer 12 months after receiving the card, by notifying the Employment Service (Zavod za zaposlovanje).
Qualification without a degree
For IT specialists, 3+ years of proven experience over the last 7 years is enough; a degree is not required.
