Family reunification is one of the grounds for a residence permit in Slovenia. It lets close relatives live legally with the main applicant, who already holds a valid residence permit or permanent residence.

Spouse
An official marriage, confirmed by a marriage certificate.

In special cases — if they are unable to work and are dependent on the applicant.
The main applicant must have stable income, health insurance and accommodation in Slovenia for all family members.
Conditions for a reunification permit
The applicant's period of residence
As a rule — at least 1 year in Slovenia on a valid permit. Exception: reunification is possible straight away on an EU Blue Card or with an EU citizen.

- Proof of the family relationship (marriage or birth certificate)
- Housing and funds to support the whole family
- Health insurance for all family members
- Proof of the main applicant's legal status
