A permit through a company: when you can file the documents
No 6-month wait
Higher education at SOK level 7 or above — the company's activity history and the €50,000 investment are not checked. All other requirements for the employer and the position still apply.

1. Opening a company in Slovenia
Step 1. Tax number
Obtaining a DŠ (davčna številka) remotely. Documents: a copy of your passport, registered address, city of residence, tax ID.
Step 2. Share capital of €7,500
In cash into a temporary account (with restrictions), as assets (a car, equipment — with an invoice and appraisal) or in gold.
Step 3. Registering the d.o.o.
Certificates of no debt and no criminal record, business activities, company name and registered address. Possible remotely by power of attorney.
2. Documents required to file for the permit
- Certificate of no criminal record with an apostille — no older than 90 days
- Certified copy of 2 pages of your passport
- Proof that the company meets the activity conditions — one of:
- a €50,000 investment, or
- a higher-education degree with an apostille, or
- company turnover over the last 6 months of at least €10,000, or
- an employee working full-time for at least 6 months
- An employment contract for a position in your own company, stating the salary
- Health insurance — travel insurance is fine, for at least 2 months
- Photographs on a light background, 3.5×4.5 cm
