Employing a staff member for 6 months for a residence permit through a company in Slovenia
We help you register the company, officially employ a staff member, meet the six-month condition and prepare the documents for a single permit for the business owner.
Important: employing a staff member does not automatically give the owner the right to a permit — it proves the employer is active, after which the applicant's own employment is arranged.

One employee
At least one person is officially employed by the company.
Full-time
The employee is included in the compulsory social insurance system.
At least 6 months
The condition is met before the applicant's documents are filed.
Who this route suits
The employment must be genuine: the employee actually does the work, receives a salary and is included in compulsory social insurance. Part-time work does not meet the condition.
Can the owner be employed straight away?
No. In the standard procedure for a first permit, the main applicant cannot work until the right to work is granted. So another employee with the right to work in Slovenia is officially employed first, and only after the 6 months are complete does the company employ the applicant.
Can the employee be changed during the 6 months?
This is risky: the condition is continuous employment and insurance of one employee for at least 6 months. You need to avoid breaks in insurance, a switch to part-time, dismissal and re-hiring, or swapping the worker just before filing.

Mistakes that lead to refusal
- The employee works part-time, or the period is not complete
- Breaks in insurance, replacing the employee with another person
- Salary paid late, taxes or contributions unpaid
- The employment exists only on paper; the employee does not actually work
- The position does not match the company's activity; the application was filed too early
